Charles’ spirit remains relentless, and to stop him once and for all, a ritual must be performed that requires two things: an item that belonged to Charles himself and an item belonging to the person who took his life. Without Raymond’s participation, this ritual is impossible, and he becomes the key to salvation or to another tragedy. You begin your search at the burned-down pawn shop that Raymond tried to destroy, hoping to leave the past behind. The police and firefighters have already searched the place but left empty-handed, disappointed by the lack of evidence. Upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that they missed a lot; the charred walls still bear traces of his presence. You collect every little thing, trying to figure out where he might have gone and why fear drove him to flee. As the investigation progresses, you come across his diary, the revelation of a man driven to despair. Raymond confesses that he sees Charles everywhere, that he has stopped sleeping and can no longer distinguish between reality and obsessive visions. He hopes to get rid of the ghost once and for all with the help of an amulet bought from a witch doctor and plans to hide in the Silence Motel, a place where, as he thinks, no one will find him. But every word is steeped in horror, and he realizes that he is not running from a living person, but from a shadow of the past that cannot be left behind. You head to the motel while there is still a chance to get there before Charles does. You find his car in the parking lot, but Raymond himself is nowhere to be seen. Every second counts now; if you don’t make it in time, his fate will be sealed. You explore the abandoned corridors of the motel, hoping to find him before despair finally pushes him over the edge. Raymond, trying to save himself, tries to use the amulet, but it only cracks, making it clear that the promised protection was a lie. The ghost remains nearby, its presence becoming more and more palpable, and Raymond’s panic reaches its peak. You realize that the only chance to stop the tragedy is to convince him to help you complete the ritual. Atonement is no longer enough to appease Charles’ anger, but you still have a chance to bring Raymond back to the light and overcome what he himself called a dirty business.
