
Edge of Reality 10: Island of Shadows – The story begins with an alarming letter and the disappearance of your father. He leaves you a box that only you can open, along with the coordinates of the mysterious island of Dornok. In the letter, he writes that he went there to retrieve a powerful artifact capable of influencing the fate of the entire island, but, apparently, he never returned. You play as Iris Cross, a private pilot who sets off on the search without hesitation. The flight doesn’t go as planned; a violent storm breaks out in the sky, followed by a destructive tornado, and you have to literally maneuver through flying debris, following the instruments’ readings. Despite all your efforts, the plane malfunctions and crashes right off the coast of the island. When you wake up after the crash, you meet a local named James. He tells you that the weather here has become extremely unstable lately, and that a wrecked ship was recently washed ashore—a ship that might have carried your father. He gives you a boat and a torch and points the way to the settlement where the Elder lives—the only one who might know more about what’s happening. As you explore the island, you gradually discover that this place is connected to an ancient civilization on the brink of extinction. The magical disasters are growing stronger, and their cause is directly linked to a missing artifact. In your father’s notes, you find a mention of a strange amulet that you once discovered together during an excavation. It seems that this is where it all began. Gradually, the story comes together into a single picture: your father’s disappearance, the artifact, the strange phenomena on the island, and your own connection to it all. To make sense of everything and save Dornokh from destruction, you’ll have to see it through to the end, uncover the secrets of the past, and understand why you, of all people, have become part of this story.
